The International Computer Music Conference (ICMC2014) jointly with the Sound and Music Computing (SMC2014) Conference invite submission of papers and posters involving aesthetic, compositional, educational, musicological, scientific, and technological aspects of sound and music computing as well as digital audio. The Conference will be held in Athens, Greece, from 14 to 20 September 2014.
The ICMC|SMC|2014 Conference theme is: Music technology meets philosophy: from digital Echos to virtual Ethos. We encourage the submission of papers related, but in no way limited, to the Conference topics. All submissions documents must be sent electronically only through the Conference Management System (http://icmc14-smc14.net/paper).
The ICMC|SMC|2014 Conference accepts for papers the following types of submissions*:
papers (for oral presentation),
piece & paper (papers for oral presentation linked with a music submission),
The reviewers will select for oral presentation primarily papers that incorporate significant experimental or theoretical results; or that otherwise advance the in the field. Posters are presentations of papers in large format on public display as a forum for discussion of work-in-progress.

Paper length and format
Papers (for all kind of presentations) shall have a typically length of 6 pages (at least 4 and at maximum 8 pages). Please make sure that you use A4 (210mm by 297mm or 8.27″ by 11.69″) paper layout. Authors have to follow strictly the Word or LaTeX template files to format their paper correctly for submission:
All kind of papers should be submitted in PDF format, with all author information removed for blind review, through the Conference Management System. Please do not send papers directly by e-mail.
Review and Post-review
All submissions will be subject to review by at least two independent referees from the International Scientific Committee assisted by the members of the International Review Panel. After the notification of acceptance, authors will be requested to submit their camera-ready papers taking into account the reviews.
All accepted papers, independently of the presentation format, will be included in the Conference Proceedings. The Proceedings will have an ISBN and will be distributed as an electronic Open Access publication. The printed version of the Proceedings will be available to the participants with an extra cost.
For presentation at the Conference and publication in the Proceedings of the ICMC|SMC|2014 Conference, a unique registration of one (co-)author per paper (of any submission type) is required by 30 June 2014.
Individuals may appear as co–authors in several papers (of any submission type), but multiple registrations per author / participant and multiple submissions of single-authored papers will not be accepted.
