The first part, which will occur on February 16th, will be an undergraduate philosophy and humanities student conference covering issues within global values. Students are encouraged to write abstracts within philosophy on the concept of global values in the areas of applied ethics, ethics, meta-ethics, consequentialism, and non-consequentialism theories. Additionally, students are encouraged to write abstracts within humanities on global values in the areas of literature, history, cultural differences/similarities, music, and art. The second part of the conference, which will occur on February 17th, will consist of a faculty conference, and we encourage faculty to write abstracts pertaining to global values from any appropriate perspective within philosophy or humanities. We will encourage students from the student conference to attend the faculty conference, and there will be a reception after the faculty portion of the conference. Distinguished philosopher Tamler Sommers will be our guest speaker.
