About
the Authors:
Richard Forno is currently the Director of Security for a major internet
services firm in Herndon, VA. His recent activities include helping establish
the very active Information Resources Security Office at the US House of Representatives
and serving as a special consultant to the Office of the Secretary of Defense.
His major areas of interest include national information warfare issues, computer
crime investigations, and security education.
Richard is a graduate of Valley Forge Military College, The American University
School of International Service, and is the youngest graduate on record from
the United States Naval War College. He is a frequent speaker and author on
the subjects of information warfare and security management, with articles
and commentary featured in several publications including Federal Computer
Week, Technology Week, Forbes, and the Journal of Operations Security.
Ronald Baklarz is currently the Director of Network Monitoring and
Incident Handling for a major insurance firm in Newark, NJ. His recent activities
include building information security programs within the Naval Nuclear Program
and at the US House of Representatives. His major areas of interest include
network intrusion detection, computer-assisted pattern recognition, and cyber-forensics.
Ron holds a Master of Science degree in Information Science and a Certificate
of Advanced Study in Telecommunications both from the University of Pittsburgh.
He is also a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and
frequent speaker and author on the subjects of information warfare and security
management.
